Masonry

Solid Skills for Building Success

The ACJVS Masonry program prepares students to enter the building and construction trades as an apprentice mason by offering a curriculum that includes brick and block work, professional skills development, building construction knowledge and related technology. Masonry students gain competencies in concrete, arch, composite wall, corner wall, fireplace and foundation construction, blueprint reading, design brickwork, and the use of hand and power tools through on-campus and off-campus work site instruction. ACJVS Masonry students compete for local, regional, state and national recognition through membership in SkillsUSA. They also gain on-the-job experience by working with real customers on a variety of projects. Completion of the ACJVS Masonry program prepares graduates to achieve success in residential and commercial construction trades as bricklayers, foremen, masonry contractors, and building supply associates.
