Carpentry

Skills On Which to Build a Solid Career

The ACJVS Carpentry program provides students with the knowledge and skills to build houses, buildings, garages, porches, decks, patios, and pole barns. It also provides students with the opportunity to build their own business careers. Carpentry students learn construction from the ground up. The program includes basics in how to estimate construction costs, read blueprints, fabricate and build wooden structures, finish interiors , install insulation, ventilation, roofing, and the safe use of power tools. Carpentry students also gain valuable experience in meeting local zoning and building codes by building real projects for real customers, and by participating in national association skill and knowledge competitions.
