Programs
Basic EMT - Emergency Medical Technician Skills Include: Emergency Victim Care, Emergency Vehicle Driving, Vital Signs, In-Hospital Training, Clinical Experience.
Certificate Requirements: Successful completion of the U.S./DOT National Standard Curriculum for Emergency Medical Technicians Basic through programs accredited by the Department of Public Safety, Division of Emergency Medical Services, State Board of EMS. Individual accredited programs may exceed 130 hours with justification and approval of the State Board of National Registry Examination.
Re-certification Requirements: Every three years, four options: 1) Examination in lieu of continuing education; 2) Forty hours continuing education which includes six hours of pediatric and two hours of geriatrics; 3) Maintain National Registry, and 4) Thirty-six hour refresher course.
Orientation is mandatory as there is a Pre-entrance test that is given that night. You must complete this exam in order to be enrolled in the EMT-B course. Contact the ACJVS today to put your name on our call list for the upcoming EMT-B class.
