CNC - Computerized Numerical Control Spring Class starts 3/07/11
Computerized Numerical Controls
This course prepares students for CNC programming, machine set-up, and machine operations. The course begins with the basics of CNC and how CNC controls work. Students will write programs in G-code for both milling machines and lathes, using Centurion contols. The students are expected to write programs, set-up the CNC machine and run the programs. In addition, the course will provide an overview on CAD/CAM software. Students Learn: Programming, Tool offsets, Zero points, Tool axis, Concepts of R plane, Work Coordinates, Circular interpolation, Tool lengths, Cutter radium compensation, Coordinate Measuring machine, and Electrical Discharge Machining.
